1. Donate time

Would you be willing to donate at least an hour of your time a month to help us and our environment?

Volunteers are needed for these jobs:
RECYCLING CENTER OPERATIONS
  • Help people unload and sort their recyclables
  • Work in our library (Gordon’s Book Nook)
  • Operate a baler (Age restrictions apply)
  • Pick up recycling from businesses or people who cannot drive
  • General cleaning and maintenance, inside and out
  • And more!
VOLUNTEER ASSISTANCE
  • Train new volunteers
  • Contact potential volunteers
  • Develop business and community groups & resources
ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
  • Marketing & Public Relations
  • Accounting or other record keeping
  • Fund raising and/ or plan events
  • Schedule planning
EDUCATION
  • Educational presentations at schools and club meetings
  • Tours of the recycling center

All volunteer work must be scheduled.

If possible, please review our PowerPoint training presentation before coming to the Center at your assigned time.

VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM

All prospective volunteers are required to fill out our volunteer application form.

  • 18 years and younger must have their parent or guardian sign the waiver on the form and provide a phone number in which the adult may be reached during the volunteers’ work time.
  • 14 years and younger must be accompanied by a supervising parent or guardian at all times when they are at the center.

COURT ORDERED VOLUNTEER PROCESS

The Volunteer Coordinator schedules all volunteers except for the court-ordered community service workers.

If you are fulfilling a court-ordered requirement, there are special provisions in place that must be adhered to.

2. Donate goods or services

We are interested in donated printing material, such as flyers, brochures, bags, shirts etc., and services such as creating content to be printed, hauling of materials from places to the center or even lunch bring provided for 5-10 workers on Saturdays. We are open to any suggestions and ideas you are interested in sharing.

We have 3 donation boxes located at the library, center table and by the moving boxes.

DILLONS COMMUNITY REWARDS

FREE AND EASY 

If you shop at Dillons Food Stores, you can select the Center to receive cash Community Rewards every time you shop.

 

1. You need a Dillons Plus Card and/or a digital account with Dillons.

With or without a card, you can create a digital account to select PRo Kansas as your designated Community Rewards recipient.

2. Enroll in the Community Rewards Program.

Go to www.dillons.com/communityrewards, log in, then click the Enroll Now button.

A list of organizations will appear. Type PRo Kansas in the “Find Your Organization” box, then click “search”.
You will see a box with the Pro Kansas Miller Recycling Center name.
Click “Enroll” at the bottom of that box.

 

3. Then, all you do is shop!

Every time you shop at Dillons, a portion of the total amount of your purchases is donated to PRo Kansas Miller Recycling Center.

 Important info:

There is no cost to you. You will not be charged anything extra for any purchase you make, it will not affect your fuel points, it will not affect your digital coupons or any benefit you get from using your Plus Card.
