About Plastics Recycling of Kansas, Inc.

We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that offers a place to recycle over 18 categories of materials (not just plastics) and provides recycling education.

Our Mission:

Increase recycling awareness, education and participation in the Wichita area by

1. Operating and growing the PRo Kansas / Miller Recycling Center
2. Educating the public through tours, activities, presentations, school programs, mailings, PR campaigns and other efforts as appropriate.
3. Involving the public through volunteering and participation in recycling and education programs

Impact

We have kept over 25 million pounds of recycling out of local landfills and our education program has reached over 25 thousand people, since opening in 2004.

Recycling saves resources.

Paper recycling, alone, has saved over 60 million gallons of water and 147 thousand trees.

We can accomplish these numbers because over 2000 individuals, families and businesses come to our center each month.

Funding

We receive funds from sales of recyclables, grants and individual donations.
